Hurricane Matthew could result in about two inches of rain and gusty winds for Lexington County, Saturday.
While Lexington County should fare well through the storm, according to National Weather Service forecasts, the state’s Lowcountry, specifically Beaufort and Charleston counties could get as much as 12 inches of rain, with wind speeds of up to 70 mph. That’s even if the hurricane does not make landfall in South Carolina.
Georgetown and Horry counties may not get as much rain, said forecasters, but heavy rain and high winds are still expected for those areas.
