A West Columbia man and a Cayce woman have been charged in connection to a homicide that happened last month on Double Branch Road in West Columbia.

Roscoe Holmes III, 23, is charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Michael Andy McMillan during the morning of Aug. 18, according to arrest warrants.

“We obtained evidence during our investigation that connects the suspect with the scene of the crime and the victim,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said.

Jakashia Gracie McPherson, 18, is charged with accessory before the fact to murder for talking to Holmes about acquiring a firearm before the shooting, according to arrest warrants.

Holmes and McPherson are being held at the Lexington County Detention Center while they await a bond hearing. Holmes is also charged with the possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The investigation into McMillan’s death is ongoing, according to Koon.
