A downed power line caused about 26,000 SCE&G customers – some of them in West Columbia- to lose electricity Saturday night.
A utility pole broke and caused a power line to come down at about 11:05 p.m. Saturday. The pole that broke was west of the Eau Claire area in Columbia, just off S.C. 215, according to report from SCE&G.
Ther power outage lasted for about 45 minutes for most of the customers. But on Sunday there were about 50 still without power. Crews from SCE&G were working to restore power to those homes.
