Brookland-Cayce defeats Airport in thrilling comeback
In a game that went back-and-forth- with Airport holding a 43-27 lead, Brookland-Cayce came back to win 47-43.
BC started fast- jumping out to a 13-0 lead, before Airport roared back to lead 14-13.
By halftime- the Eagles were ahead 30-20 after Paxon Brooks hit a 49-yard field goal with three seconds left in the second quarter.
BC scored with 7:05 left in the third quarter, to cut Airport’s lead to 30-27. Airport then scored two TDs for a 43-27 lead after an extra-point was blocked. BC had a kickoff return for a TD- and the Bearcats scored the go-ahead TD with 2:20 to go in the game. BC’s defense held Airport- and the Eagles turned the ball over on downs- and the Bearcats ran out the clock.
