PFC Eugene Hammill, middle, of the West Columbia Police Department was named Law Enforcement Officer-of-the-Month at the Cayce-West Columbia Chamber of Commerce Breakfast, Tuesday.

Hammill was commended for his assistance with the police department’s holiday food banks, and his quick response recently that helped apprehend an armed robbery suspect- and the return of property to the victim.

The Chamber Breakfast was held at the Wil Lou Gray Opportunity School off of Boston Avenue.
