Brookland-Cayce defeats Lake Marion

BC1A
BC scored at will.

BC beat Lake Marion 49-8 Saturday morning. The Bearcats were ahead 35-0 at halftime and scored to open the third quarter after recovering the kickoff .

The game was never close. The bigger opponent seemed to be the heat during the daytime game- that was moved to 10 a.m. Saturday- after an electrical storm hit Cayce at game time Friday night.

Cam Brown, Sammy Lykes and Rasheed Taylor scored in the first half. QB Reed Charpia was on target with a high-percentage of his passes as the Bearcats scored on the ground and through the air. RB K.J. Adams scored in the third quarter. Dom Perry and Marquis McCoy scored, too.

On defense, Travis Loadholt, Corbin Smalls, Tay Pringle, Jarren Brown, and Paul Edwards were productive.  Sammy Lykes also had an interception. The Gators did not score until the fourth quarter.

It was a hot and humid day. One man in the stands was overheated and had to be assisted by emergency medical personnel.
