The 2016-17 School Year opens for Lexington School District 2, Thursday.

Almost 9,000 students will begin classes at the district’s 16 schools in Cayce, West Columbia Pine Ridge and South Congaree. Students range in age from 3K to adult education.
One half of the children in the district ride the bus to school. With breakfast, lunch and dinner in some cases, District 2 serves 1.8 million meals a year.
