What’s new in Lexington School District 2?
Students return to class Thursday (Aug. 18.) While they were gone some things changed in Lexington
School District 2 over the summer.
Work continued on the new elementary school, that is under construction on the 12th Street Extension in Cayce. It’s beside Busbee Creative Arts Academy. It is scheduled to open in fall 2017.
Projects over the summer, and into the school year – include: Congaree Elementary is getting new cafeteria addition. At Brookland-Cayce High School the I-2 Tech learning space is being expanded. There is roofing and HVAC work at Airport High, Brookland-Cayce High, Congaree-Wood Early Childhood Center, Pair, and Northside Middle.
There is painting being done at Brookland-Cayce High, Busbee Middle and Northside Middle. There
is also work being done on the baseball and softball fields at Airport High. In September additions will begin at Pine Ridge Middle and Congaree-Wood Early Childhood Center. There will be fencing added at Northside Middle. And there will be concrete sidewalk work and playground paving at Busbee Middle. The fieldhouse at Airport High School is scheduled to be upgraded.
