West Columbia extends Riverwalk hours on Mondays for Pokémon Go
West Columbia Police Department to Set Lures for Prime Pokè Hunting
Join the West Columbia Police Department for Pokè Monday at the West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater every Monday, for the next several months, with extended hours until 10 pm. The announcement was made in a release from Anna Huffman- public information officer for West Columbia.
The Riverwalk Park at the Amphitheater will be open to the public with a lure set for prime waterfront nocturnal Pokémon captures. Regular park hours will remain all other days of the week, from dawn until dusk. Pokè Monday hours are subject to change.
“We wanted to extend park hours on this special night to assist people in capturing the elusive monsters they can only get at night around bodies of water. We wanted to create a more conducive environment for people to play Pokémon Go instead of individuals coming down by themselves while the park is closed,” said Chief Dennis Tyndall.
The City of West Columbia encourages all Pokèmon Go players to always follow park rules. The areas of the Riverwalk that are blocked due to construction will remain closed and are not to be accessed at any time by the public.
