Double Eagle Circle structure fire destroys home.

County of Lexington emergency personnel responded to a residential structure fire near the Red Bank community Sunday evening.

Just after 10 p.m., Lexington County 911 dispatched Lexington County Fire Service and EMS to the 300 block of Double Eagle Circle in reference to a residential structure fire. Upon arrival, heavy flames and smoke could be seen coming from the roof of the home.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, but the residence has been determined to be a total loss, after it suffered an estimated $200,000 in damage.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the fire started in one of the residence’s back bedrooms. The fire then spread to the roof of the home. An investigation into the cause of the fire is still underway.

The Red Cross has been called in to assist the displaced family of three.
