Early Thursday morning, just after 12 a.m., Lexington County 911 dispatched Lexington County Fire Service and EMS units to the 200 block of Cedar Crest Drive, just outside of the Town of Lexington.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed moderate smoke and flames coming from the residence’s windows and roof. After containing the fire, firefighters made entry into the residence and discovered two bodies inside of the bedroom area.

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, Lexington County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division fire investigators are continuing to investigate the fire.

The home suffered an estimated $60,000 in damages as a result of the fire.
