Pineview Elementary “Girls on the Run” donate to Make-A-Wish

Pineview Elementary School’s “Girls on the Run” raised $843 for the South Carolina chapter of the “Make a Wish Foundation.” The girls presented a check to Make-A-Wish Friday (May 13.)

Girls-on-the-Run participants held a “Hats to Help Day” on which all students and faculty members could donate a dollar in order to wear a hat for the day. Pineview has two Girls-on-the-Run teams this year.

The girls are coached by Melanie Yoder, Erica Poole, Jamie Allen, Kayla Brown, Jessica Turner and Alison Smoak. Mary Lohman of Columbia Girls-on-the-Run and Mary Silverberg of Make-A-Wish-South Carolina came to congratulate the girls during the check presentation, Friday. All are in the photo with the girls.  Pineview is a Lexington 2 school, in West Columbia.
