At approximately 12:40 p.m., the City of Cayce Department of Public Safety responded to a call about a bank robbery at the Bank of America located at 440 Knox Abbott Drive. City of Cayce Spokeswoman Ashley Hunter issued a release regarding the robbery at about 1:15 p.m.

Units arrived on the scene minutes later and learned that a male subject passed a note demanding money to one of the Bank of America employees. The suspect then left with undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was captured a few moments later by Cayce DPS officers.

No one was injured during the incident. Cayce DPS is still investigating and will release more details at a later time.

The Bank of America building will remain closed until approximately 2 p.m.
