Waterline leak causes West Columbia traffic alert, Tuesday morning
The West Columbia Police department issued a traffic alert Tuesday morning.
West bound traffic on Hwy 378 (Sunset Blvd.) at Jarvis Klappamn Blvd. is shut down. There is a water leak that is causing ice on the roadway. Please avoid this area if possible.

The City of West Columbia has experienced a water line break in an 8-inch water line on Sunset Boulevard near Jarvis Klapman Boulevard. City crews are currently working to fix the leak. A boil water advisory is in effect only for a poultry processing facility located in the 300 block of Sunset Boulevard. No other customers are under a boil water advisory. Drivers should anticipate slower than normal traffic as crews work in Sunset Boulevard to repair the line.

Water customers may also contact customer service at City Hall between 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at 803.791.1880. Emergencies occurring after hours and on weekends and holidays should be reported to the West Columbia Police Department at 803.794.0721.
