Lexington County fatal shooting results in murder charge
Columbia man charged with murder in Lexington County fatal shooting
Lexington County Sheriff’s Department detectives have charged a Columbia man with murder in connection with a December shooting death.
According to arrest warrants, Camry Davonte Taylor, 20, fatally shot Felix Jamal Jones, 35, on Dec. 19.
“Mr. Jones was shot multiple times at an apartment complex off Berryhill Road in the Columbia area of Lexington County,” Sheriff Jay Koon said. “He was then driven to the Red Roof Inn where he died of his injuries.”
Koon said Taylor is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center after a judge denied bond.
“Our investigation into this shooting death is ongoing, but we don’t believe Taylor acted alone,” Koon said. “We’re encouraging anyone with information about the case to reach out to our detectives.”
