Coroner identifies woman killed in accident
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has released the identity of the person who was killed in a single vehicle accident in the early morning hours of Thursday.
Shalonda Monique Duncan, 24, of Gaston was was pronounced dead at the scene from the injuries she suffered in the accident. Duncan was traveling west on Highway 302 near Old Orangeburg Road at 3:45 a.m. when her vehicle ran off of the left side of the road, overturned, and hit several parked cars. Duncan was alone. She was not wearing a seatbelt, and was ejected from the vehicle.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol will continue to investigate the accident.
