James appointed Lexington 2 Schools superintendent
DR. WILLIAM B. “BILL” JAMES APPOINTED SUPERINTENDENT OF LEXINGTON 2
The Board of Trustees of Lexington School District Two unanimously approved the appointment of Dr. William B. James, Jr. as Superintendent of Lexington County School District Two effective immediately.
“The Board is very excited to have Dr. James lead this District” said Bill Bingham, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. “We look forward to working with Dr. James to keep us progressing both educationally and through the implementation of our building program. The Board asks our staff and community to embrace Dr. James and support him in his role as the leader of Lexington Two.”
The appointment was made at the Board’s regular monthly meeting on Oct. 27.
The Board will negotiate a contract with Dr. James for consideration at a later Board meeting. Dr. James has been serving as interim superintendent since June 18. Dr. James served as Educational Consultant for the SC School for the Deaf and the Blind prior to becoming interim superintendent of Lexington Two. He served as Superintendent of Cherokee County School District 1 in Gaffney, SC for 10 years, and he was principal at Airport High School from 1995-1997. Dr. James received a BS in Biology from Wofford College, a Masters in Education from the University of South Carolina, an Education Specialist degree in Administration from Clemson University, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Administration.
