A man was killed in the 3000 block of Charleston Highway around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, according to the office of  Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.

Robert Charles Dolifus, 55, of Columbia was killed.  He was on his way to work at the Amazon Fulfillment facility.

The moped Dolifus was riding was struck from the rear by a vehicle traveling in the same direction. He was thrown from the moped and died at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident.

The accident is being investigated by the Lexington County Coroner’s office and the S.C. Highway Patrol.
