1st Sgt. Michael Rowland receives LMC Live Well Award
First Sgt. Michael Rowland was recognized with the Lexington Medical Center Foundation’s Live Well Award, Tuesday. The award was presented by Lexington Medical Center Foundation’s Renee Dooley at the Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber of Commerce meeting, Tuesday. It was held at The Hall at Senate’s End.
Rowland, who has been awarded the Bronze Star along with many other medals, is the JROTC teacher at the Swansea High Freshman Academy. He served in Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm and operation Enduring Freedom.
Rowland said he has valued exercise and the practice of good nutrition his whole life. He now teaches that to his students. Swansea High Freshman Academy is part of Lexington School District 4.
