The power is currently out at Northside Middle School in West Columbia due to a vehicle incident with the transformer. Dominion Energy is aware and is working to remedy the situation with the school’s maintenance team. It happened Friday around 6 a.m.

It is possible that electric power to the school building will be out until evening.  As a result school at Northside will be canceled Friday (Aug.19.) Students who are already en route to Northside, will be relocated at Riverbank until they are picked up.

Phones are down at Riverbank Elementary but school is still operating on a normal schedule. Phones expected to be up and running again soon.
