Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher is releasing the identity of a man who was shot and killed during what the Town of Lexington Police Department is calling a home invasion Tuesday at approximately 4:48 a.m. in Lexington County.

Fisher states that Mr. Matthew Lewis Stanfield, 33, whose last known address is believed to be in the state of Colorado, was shot multiple times in the upper body and died at the scene from the injuries he sustained. Another male on the scene was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. An autopsy will be scheduled at MUSC.

The Lexington Police Department continues to investigate this incident.  Further information will be released by the Lexington Police Department.
