Lexington County Coroner, Margaret Fisher, has identified the individual who died in a vehicle versus tractor trailer accident near the intersection of Highway 378 and Lake Village Drive in Leesville shortly after 11 a.m. Friday.

According to Fisher, Mr. Bobby Joe Price, 64, of Leesville who was the passenger in a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Highway 378 when the vehicle went left of center striking a tractor trailer head-on. Mr. Price was pronounced dead at a local hospital due to the injuries sustained.

The driver of the pickup was transported to an area hospital where his current condition is unknown. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
