Daniel defeated Brookland-Cayce in the championship game of the SC High School League Soccer playoffs at WC Hawkins Staduum in Irmo, Friday.

Liam Disjardins and Eddie Merck hit penalty kicks after overtime to secure the win for Daniel. The Lions won the PK round 3-1.

Daniel was ahead 2-0 most of the game. But at the 17:25 mark of the second half, Eduardo Moisa Membreno scored a goal for Brookland-Cayce. Then Angel Barrientos Reyes tied the game at 2 with a score off the back of his head, igniting the BC crowd and the sideline. Membreno scored again to put BC up 3-2 and the Irmo High School field became electric.
After a green card, and a midfield kick, Daniel scored again to tie the game at 3 where it remained until the end of regulation. At the 3:35 mark in the first overtime, a the game was stopped and the field was cleared for a lightening delay. Neither team scored in 3 OT periods before Daniel prevailed in PKs.
