Brookland-Cayce wins another playoff game
Brookland-Cayce defeated Hanahan, 6-1, in high school baseball Thursday night at BC. The Bearcats remain undefeated in the playoffs. BC scored 6 runs in the first 2 innings, 2 in the first and 4 in the second. Hanahan scored its run in the 3rd inning.
Skylar King was the winning pitcher for BC. He gave up 2 hits and recorded 6 strikeouts and 3 walks. Jackson Thomas came on to pitch the last 2 innings for the save. Hunter Gomes went 5 innings and took the loss for the Hawks.
Ty Marshall, Mason Turner and BJ Etheridge had RBIs for BC. Parker Mergo and King scored twice for BC and Jordan Wise and Dylan McClintok scored a run for the Bearcats.
The Bearcats will face Oceanside on Saturday in the Lower State Championship Series.
Thursday’s game started late because of rain and then was halted for another rain delay.
