Springdale to get a new Town Municipal Complex
The Town of Springdale is planning to move into a bigger Town Hall facility.
With the use of American Rescue Plan funds, Springdale will soon begin an effort to turn the former Jewelry Warehouse site, that is next to the current Springdale Town Hall, into the new Town of Springdale Municipal Complex. The current Town Hall address is 2915 Platt Springs Rd.
“Our current town hall building is approximately 3,000 sq.-ft.,” said Springdale Mayor Juston Ricard. “The new proposed complex will be 9,000-sq. ft.”
The cost to buy the Jewelry Warehouse building and renovate it to become city offices is around $2 million. Ricard said the move makes good sense and it allows for future growth. The Lexington Two School District offices and the district’s preforming arts center is under construction in Springdale and 160 new single-family homes are being built, too.
Ricard said permitting should be completed soon and construction inside the new facility will begin in July.
“Springdale is growing and I’m excited,” Ricard said. “This is a really big deal.”
Plans are for the current Town Hall to become a community center once the new site is complete.
