Tanner Staton, of Brookland-Cayce High School, selected as a Bridge Builder Excellence Award Finalist
From Dawn Kujawa – Lexington 2 Communications – Tanner Staton, a rising senior athlete at Brookland-Cayce High School, has been selected as one of 70 nominee finalists statewide for the Bridge Builder Excellence Award for the SC Football Hall of Fame.
Staton is a three-year starter and quarterback with the Brookland-Cayce varsity football team. He was 2021 and 2020 All-Region and the 2021 Region 5 AAA Player of the Year.
Staton has been invited to attend the Elite 11 Quarterback Regionals and recently attended the National Combine at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas. He is currently pursuing prospect interests from a number of schools in North Carolina and South Carolina, among them Wake Forest, Elon, Wofford, Furman and Appalachian State.
Nominees for the Bridge Builder Excellence Award are selected based on excellence in the community, in the classroom and on the football field.
