Cucinella’s Slices and Ices is now open in the Westland Square (Food Lion) shopping center 2250-M Sunset Boulevard in West Columbia. It’s a pizzeria and Italian ice restaurant. It opens daily at 4 p.m. now and plans are to be open for lunch in the future. Beer and wine are not available, but plans are to serve beer and wine eventually.

“We decided to open Friday, on the snow day,” said Jimmy Mockridge. Jimmy and his wife Mary Mockridge, of Cayce, own Cucinella’s. Melissa Sprouse-Browne, of SC Realty and the Real Estate School of South Carolina, with her husband Chip, were dining on pizza at Cucinella’s, Sunday evening. “It’s very good pizza,” she said.
