Locklair Farm Supply in Gaston is a friend to the community it serves and it’s a Cayce-West Columbia Chamber member
Locklair Farm Supply was opened in Gaston more than four decades ago. It’s at 109 State Pond Road. It’s the store that has just about everything.
Sammye Locklair, who now runs Locklair’s. “My Dad opened the store in 1977,” she said. “We are a family owned business that started selling mainly to farmers in the Gaston and Swansea area. We still sell livestock feed, seed, and fertilizer, but now we have many supplies for pet owners and people with smaller gardens or landscaped yards.”
Locklair’s is presenting Christmas in the Country at Locklair’s Farm Supply, Saturday (Dec. 4) from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Sammye took over for her parents when she left the Lexington Two School District in 1991. She was a teacher in Pine Ridge and she taught at Brookland-Cayce High School. Some of her colleagues from her teaching days still come into Locklair Farm Supply.
“I feel like education is a big part of what I do for my customers,” Sammye said. “I try to steer them in the right direction based on what their need is. We will help them save money if we can. I also feel like these are more than just customers. They are our friends.”
Sammye said she feels she has developed a level of trust over the years. Locklair’s is also a member of the Cayce-West Columbia Chamber of Commerce and customers to Locklair’s from Cayce, West Columbia and Springdale,” Sammye said.
What does Locklair’s offer: Pet Food; Pet Supplies; Lawn and Garden; Horse Supplies; Insecticides; Livestock Feed; Hardware; SC Grown Produce; Carports and Storage Sheds and Dog Kennels.
Locklair’s also supports many charities, including: Wounded Warrior Project; Special Olympics; Lexington Districts 2 and 4 Schools Ladies That Lead and Various Animal Charities.
Locklair Farm Supply is now a UPS Parcel Express Center. It’s a drop off center for UPS pre-labeled packages and a small package shipping center. Customers can use this service Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 9am – 6pm and on Saturday 8am – 5pm.
