Chamber hosting forum featuring 4 Town of Lexington candidates is Monday
The Lexington Chamber and Visitors Center will host a candidate forum for elected positions on the Town of Lexington council 6:30 p.m., Monday (Oct. 25) at 311 West Main Street in Lexington. The forum is free and open to the public.
The four candidates running for three council seats include incumbents Steve Baker, Todd Carnes and Ron Williams and newcomer Lachin Hatemi.
“The purpose of this forum is to educate voters about the candidates and to bring business and area residents together to hear how the candidates stand on issues of importance to the business community,” said Angelle LaBorde, Chamber President and CEO.
Candidates will participate in a timed question-and-answer session, as well as provide a brief opening personal statement and closing remarks.
Michael Burgess, the Lead Teacher for The Center for Law and Global Policy Development at River Bluff High School, will serve as moderator. Questions will not be taken from the audience, but members of the business community had an opportunity to submit topics and questions for candidates prior to the event.
The Lexington Chamber is a non-profit, nonpartisan organization and does not support or oppose any candidates for political office.
