COVID numbers are declining in West Columbia just in time for Halloween.

The Centers for Disease Control said Halloween 2021 should be more normal after last year’s COVID-impacted event.
Kids who want to, should get outdoors and go trick-or-treating this Halloween, according to the CDC.

While the CDC is pro-trick-or-treat, crowd sizes should be limited. Crowded Halloween parties are not a good idea in the COVID era, according to the CDC. But trick-or-treating in small groups is preferable, said  Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the director of the CDC.

In addition to the opportunity to trick-or-treat, door-to-door, there are other Halloween options. Below is a list of Trunk-or-Treat locations in West Columbia:

Airport High School and Brookland-Cayce High School are inviting the community to kick off Halloween at their family-friendly, drive-thru events for trick-or-treating. Admission is free to both events.
Both events are set for Thursday, October 28, so district families can participate at their nearest high school. Free candy will be handed out, and costumes are encouraged.

Airport High School’s drive-thru Trick or Treat Lane is set for 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. on the school campus, 1315 Boston Ave., West Columbia. The event is coordinated by the Student Council, with clubs and community members handing out candy.

Brookland-Cayce High School’s drive-thru Trunk or Treat is set for 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. on the school campus, 1300 State St. The event is coordinated by the school’s DECA organization, with help from other student clubs and groups in handing out candy.

Cayce – West Columbia Dixie Youth Baseball is hosting a Trunk or Treat from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., on Friday Oct. 29, at Wilson Howard Park 200 Cougar Drive West Columbia.

The Second Annual Drive-Thru Trunk or Treat Event is Friday, October 29th from 6-8PM at Providence Presbyterian Church on Hummingbird Drive, West Columbia.

Old School Automotive invites everyone to a Trunk or Treat from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Oct. 30. It’s at 111 N. 12th St. West Columbia. It features candy, games, prizes and more.

Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church  Halloween 2021 is on Sunday, Oct. 31, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. It   will be an afternoon of mayhem and mischief with a “walk-thru” Trunk or Treat with games in the park.

Boo at the Zoo is back, too.

Boo at the Zoo is presented by Riverbanks Zoo and Garden. It’s every day until Oct. 30, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tickets are required.

The Zoo’s annual Halloween spook-tacular is a wild night of safe, affordable, family-friendly activities. Trick-or-treat throughout the Zoo, delight in Ray’s Moonlight Magic, and summon the Halloween spirits with the Eeky Freaky DJ.

For an additional charge, guests can roast marshmallows, take a spin on the Haunted Carousel, or hop aboard the Spooky Spots and Stripes Railroad.

Halloween 2021 should be a fun time with lots of activities planned in West Columbia.
