16-year-old charged with DUI in crash with school bus on Sunset Blvd in Lexington
A 16-year-old was arrested Friday after Lexington Police said the driver sideswiped a Lexington One School District bus and another vehicle. The crash occurred on Sunset Boulevard at Hope Ferry Road in Lexington.
The 16-year-old has not been identified because he is a juvenile. He was charged with driving under the influence, open container, and minor in possession of liquor, according to the Lexington Police Department. The teen caused the crash, said police. There were no children on the bus at the time of the collision and no injuries were reported.
According to police, the 16-year-old left his lane, entered the median, and crossed into the inbound lane, sideswiping the bus and another vehicle that was traveling inbound on Sunset Boulevard.
