1 killed, juvenile injured in Lexington crash
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died in a single vehicle accident in the 2300 block of South Lake Drive at approximately 3 a.m., Sunday.
According to Fisher, Mr. Charles Lamar Chestnut, 22, of Lexington was traveling westbound towards Lexington when his vehicle went off the left side of the roadway, struck several trees and then overturned.
Mr. Chestnut, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced deceased at the scene due to injuries sustained. A juvenile in the vehicle with Mr. Chestnut, who was ejected during the accident, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
An investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol is ongoing.
