Lexington Medical Center applauds Nephron Pharmaceuticals vaccination effort against COVID
Lexington Medical Center applauds Nephron Pharmaceuticals for requiring all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of this virus. The hospital publicly thanks Nephron Pharmaceuticals’ CEO and owner Lou Kennedy for her leadership and vision in making this decision to help keep her employees, their families and the community healthy and safe.
Headquartered in West Columbia, South Carolina, Nephron Pharmaceuticals manufactures a variety of medications and employs more than 2,500 people.
“COVID-19 continues to spread rapidly throughout the Midlands,” said Tod Augsburger, Lexington Medical Center president and CEO. “Vaccination is the most important step we can take in helping protect our friends, families and neighbors from this virus. We know that these vaccines are safe and effective and, when combined with masking and social distancing, can save lives. Lou Kennedy and Nephron Pharmaceuticals have set a positive example for the business community as we work to end the pandemic.”
Lexington Medical Center continues to recommend that all eligible individuals receive a COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine is available for people ages 12 and up. The hospital’s vaccine clinic is open seven days a week and is located at 139 Summerplace Drive in West Columbia. Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are available.
