A shooting in West Columbia has left one person dead.

West Columbia Police responded to a shooting incident in the 800 Block of Osage Avenue in West Columbia around 1:30 p.m., Saturday. Officers arrived on scene and found one person deceased.

WCPD Capt. Marion Boyce stated in a press release that there is a juvenile suspect in custody on weapons charges.
“We want the community to know that this appears to be an isolated incident. This is an active investigation, and we will continue to update as more information becomes available.” Boyce stated.
