One person died in a crash in Lexington County, Wednesday. It occurred on South Lake Drive (or SC 6) near New Orangeburg Road, about four miles south of South Congaree, according to Lance Cpl. Tyler Tidwell of the S.C. Highway Patrol.

A 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling west on SC 6 when the driver veered left, ran off the road and hit a tree. The vehicle then overturned and hit another tree before catching on fire. The driver was killed in the crash, said Tidwell.
