According to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, the operator of a minibike, a 13-year-old male from the Pine Ridge community, died Tuesday from injuries suffered in a minibike crash. Fisher did not disclose the name of the boy who was killed.

He died after being transported to an area hospital after the crash. The young man was riding the minibike on Williams Circle, near Courtney Drive, when it left the road, struck a mailbox, then collided with a tree. The collision occurred at approximately 6:40 p.m. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating
