Man arrested in connection to West Columbia to deadly shooting
The West Columbia Police Department has arrested a person that was involved in a shooting on Luke St. that occurred on May 6.
The West Columbia Police Department responded to the 500 block of Luke Street in West Columbia in reference to a shooting.
Thirty-year-old Harkeem Akins died as a result of this shooting and an investigation established Corey Anthony Jones as a person of interest in the case. On May 13,
Corey Anthony Jones was arrested by the West Columbia Police Department. Jones was charged with Murder, Possession of a firearm during a violent crime, and Possession of a firearm by certain persons unlawful. He is currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center and is awaiting a bond hearing.
