Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has positively identified the person who died in a two-vehicle
accident in the 1700 block of Fairview Road in the Pelion area of Lexington County on Tuesday, Oct. 13,
at approximately 7:17 a.m.

According to Fisher, Ms. Hillary Rain Rish, 35, of Leesville, was traveling westbound on Fairview
Road when a vehicle traveling eastbound hit her head-on. Ms. Rish, who was not wearing a seatbelt,
was pronounced dead at the scene. The two occupants of the other vehicle were transported to an area
hospital with serious injuries.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate
the incident.
