West Columbia City Council moves to push forward development of the massive Colite site

West Columbia City Council on Tuesday (Oct. 6) approved a rezoning request for the Colite City project on a 3-block, 10-acre site bordered by North Brown, Shull, Senn, and US 1-Augusta Road in West Columbia (between Augusta Road and Jarvis Klapman Boulevard, behind 12th Street Plaza). The site has sat in disrepair for several years.

Plans for a new mix-use development project in West Columbia were first announced by Jams and Stark, in October of 2022. Initial work will begin at 228 and 229 N. Parson Street.

The project will bring innovation and collaboration from entrepreneurs and creative minds. Expect meeting room, a market, food space, and a brew hall, with a tap room. There will also be artisan space and an open office flex room for start-ups, especially in the IT area.

The site includes more than 150,000 sq.-ft. of space that will be transformed in stores, business space and residential. The whole site consists of 300,000 sq. ft.
