A Drop-In workshop is scheduled from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. for Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Trinity United Methodist church, 1201 Mohawk Drive. Dominion Energy is holding the workshop to discuss the new Millrace Substation.

Dominion Energy is planning to construct a new Millrace substation. The new substation will be located on existing Dominion Energy property along the 1300 block of Mohawk Drive, in West Columbia.

Dominion says the new substation will provide additional capacity and improve system reliability. This project will replace existing infrastructure that has been in service for more than 60 years, add redundancies to the grid and reduce the frequency and duration of power outages throughout the area.
