Students from a number of Midlands high schools participated in hands-on activities, skills demonstrations, discussions about careers within the industry, and more.
Schiria Wilson, director of the Lexington Two Innovation Center, said the field study offered her students a look at vast opportunities for students seeking full-time careers in the industry upon graduation.
“L2IC students participated in numerous interactive activities that illustrated the relevance of the hands-on learning they are receiving everyday at our Lexington Two Innovation Center every day,” Wilson said. “Our ‘pathways in / pathways out’ learning approach showed students the viable options that exist if they successfully complete any of our CTE pathways.”
Wilson said the Scout Motors trip, along with the businesses involved at the Lexington Two Innovation Center, are invaluable to shaping students and their future careers.
“When industry partners with education, students benefit in ways that are beyond measure,” she said. “We are grateful for our partnership with Scout Motors and are excited to see what the future holds for our students.”
