No COVID deaths in South Carolina Monday, 3.1 million vaccinated
The COVID data for Monday, reported Tuesday by the SC Department of Health and Environmental Health, shows no COVID deaths, DHEC reported that in total 3.1 million had been vaccinated.
Anyone over the age of 16 is eligible for the vaccine. Based on the state’s population of 5 million, more than 60 percent of the state has been vaccinated. There were 192 new cases of COVID reported Monday.
On Tuesday, Gov. Henry McMaster Issued an order empowering parents to decide on masks in schools. The order also restricts local mask mandates, and prohibits vaccine passport requirements in state government entities.
