
Lexington County issues information guide for the county’s voters before the Nov. 3 election
With the 2026 Statewide General Election approaching, Lexington County Registration and Elections is encouraging voters to prepare now by checking their registration, reviewing their sample ballot and deciding whether they plan to vote early, absentee or on Election Day.

The 2026 Statewide General Election will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
VOTER REGISTRATION:
Voters are encouraged to confirm that their voter registration information and address are current before the registration deadline. You can register to vote here, or you can check your voter registration here.
Important registration deadlines for the November election are:
- Friday, October 2 at 5:00 PM — Deadline to register in person
- Sunday, October 4 at 11:59 PM — Deadline to register online or submit an application by email or fax.
- Monday, October 5 — Deadline for mailed registration applications to be postmarked before October 5, 2026.
EARLY VOTING:
Early Voting begins Monday, October 19 and continues through Saturday, October 31. Lexington County’s six Early Voting centers will be open Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Early voting will be closed Sunday, October 25. Registered Lexington County voters may vote at any of the County’s six Early Voting locations:
- Lexington County Registration and Elections Office: 605 West Main Street, Lexington
- Midlands Technical College – Irmo: 7300 College Street, Irmo
- West Columbia Community Center: 754 B Avenue, West Columbia
- Midlands Technical College – Batesburg: 423 College Street, Batesburg
- Gaston Town Hall: 131 N. Carlisle Street, Gaston
- Chapin Town Hall: 157 NW Columbia Avenue, Chapin
ABSENTEE VOTING:
Eligible voters choosing to vote absentee should return their ballots as soon as possible. Completed absentee ballots must be received by 7:00 PM on Election Day. The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot for the General Election is Friday, October 23by 5:00 PM.
ELECTION DAY:
On Tuesday, November 3, voters must vote at their assigned polling place. Polls will be open from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM. Voters should verify their polling location before heading out, particularly if they have moved or have not voted recently.
South Carolina voters should bring an accepted Photo ID when voting. Accepted forms include an S.C. Driver’s License, S.C. DMV ID Card, S.C. Voter Registration Card with Photo, federal Military ID, Concealed Weapons Permit, Temporary Identification Certificate or U.S. Passport.
