West Columbia’s Fall Back Fest is Nov. 6, a day before the USC Gamecocks play Texas A&M, book your plans now.

The 10th Annual Fall Back Fest is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 6. On Saturday, Nov. 7, Texas A&M Aggies will be in town to play the Gamecocks. The kickoff time of that football game has not been announced, but the atmosphere will be electric with a nationally ranked opponent on USC’s schedule the same weekend as the Fall Back Fest. And fans can come to town to take in both events. The City of West Columbia invites everyone to enjoy Art on State. It’s from 5:30 until 9:30 p.m., along the 100–300 blocks of State Street. This free event features live music, art, food, and drinks. Performers include the Dylan Hayes Band, Brooks Herring, and Rutland.

“I came to see my daughter graduate from USC last year (in May) and we stayed overnight on Friday night,” said Scott Ferguson of Hartsville. “We were told about West Columbia’s Riverwalk at the hotel and we went over there to check it out with my wife and a couple friends of ours. That’s when we saw the street blocked off and we could hear the band playing, so we parked across the street and walked over. We had a blast and talked to a lot of people. That’s how we found out the street parties in West Columbia are a regular thing. I made a point to keep track of when they have the bands and everything and we’re coming back this year. We booked a room already in West Columbia.” 

Art on State has grown to a highly anticipated event over the years. And when the street party coincides with a big USC weekend, attendees are drawn from all over the state. Many West Columbia shop owners, who stay open for the evening, report talking to visitors from all over the Southeast . Some come to town for the basic training graduation at Fort Jackson, in addition to big USC events.

During the evening, local artists will create temporary street murals, and vendors, restaurants, and venues will offer a variety of food and beverages. The Meeting Street Artisan Market Night Edition will also be held in the Interactive Art Park, giving attendees the chance to shop for unique, handcrafted gifts while supporting local artists and creators.
