(From the City of West Columbia) Construction has officially begun on the Meeting Street Improvement Project, creating a street where business and community meet!

What’s ahead:

• Eastbound right lane of Meeting Street closed Sept. 14 from the 400 to 900 blocks. Meeting Street will remain open to traffic. Business and resident entrances and driveways remain accessible throughout construction.

• Work started Sept. 7 in the unimproved lot next to the Artisan Market Pavilion at 425 Meeting Street, and the lot is expected to reopen on September 25.

Over the next two weeks, demolition and construction will move into the 400 block of Meeting Street. Watch for crews and give yourself extra time getting through the area.
