Lexington County Man Serving Life Sentence is Convicted of Second Murder

Allon T. Adams, a 25-year-old Leesville man, has been convicted of a second murder for the death of Devon Tricoche (photo below), in Lexington County. Adams was originally sentenced to Life in prison following his conviction on November 21, 2025 for the Murder of Tony Etheredge, Jr. in Lexington County.

Judge Walton J. McLeod, IV imposed the life sentence for the murder of Etheredge following the jury trial conviction in November. Adams was sentenced to thirty (30) years concurrent for the murder of Tricoche after a guilty plea on July 17th, 2026. Adams is not eligible for parole under South Carolina law and will remain in prison for life.

This case was prosecuted by Eleventh Circuit Solicitor Rick Hubbard and Deputy Solicitor Suzanne Mayes. The murder investigation was conducted by Det. John Reed and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department (LCSD) Major Crimes Unit.

Eleventh Circuit Solicitor Rick Hubbard stated, “Today’s sentence brings a measure of justice to the families of Tony Etheredge, Jr. and Devon Tricoche, whose lives were taken through senseless and devastating violence. With this life sentence and additional concurrent term, Allon Adams is held fully accountable for the violence he inflicted. This resolution reinforces our commitment to public safety and ensures that Adams will never again be able to harm another person in our community.”

On November 28, 2023, Devon Tricoche, age 30, was shot and killed during an armed robbery near the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Leesville. The investigation determined that Adams and a co-defendant committed a planned attack on Tricoche. Tricoche was shot multiple times by Adams, then robbed of his belongings and the Kia Soul vehicle he was driving. Adams placed Tricoche’s body into water at a boat landing located at 1036 New Holland Road and left the scene.

After law enforcement discovered Tricoche’s body, an autopsy confirmed that he sustained twelve (12) gunshot wounds. Adams later abandoned the stolen Kia vehicle at Rish Road in Leesville and attempted to destroy evidence inside of the vehicle with cleaning products.

While law enforcement was investigating the murder of Tricoche, Adams and the same co-defendant planned a second attack on Tony Etheredge, Jr., age 35. In the early morning hours of December 30, 2023, Etheredge was shot in the Leesville area of Lexington County.

Adams and the co-defendant planned to rob Etheredge of his 2014 Toyota Tacoma truck. Etheredge was lured to a location at Parrish Road where he was shot and killed by Adams. Adams and the co-defendant then stole the truck and disposed of Etheredge’s body over a bridge into Black Creek, near Pelion.

Tony Etheredge, Jr. was reported missing by his family and his Toyota Tacoma truck was later found abandoned in an open field on Truex Road in Leesville. Once again, Adams made efforts to extensively clean the truck prior to leaving it in the field.

The body of Tony Etheredge, Jr. was located by LCSD investigators on February 9th, 2024 at Black Creek River. An autopsy determined Etheredge sustained three (3) gunshot wounds.

Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) determined the Toyota Tacoma truck had evidence of a bullet defect in the driver’s seat, where Etheredge had been shot. A towel and hoodie were found near the truck, which were sent to SLED for DNA analysis. At trial, testimony established that DNA recovered on the towel and hoodie conclusively linked Adams to the crime scene.

Digital evidence from cell phones belonging to Adams revealed that he made multiple admissions discussing the murders of both Tricoche and Etheredge. Certain admissions from the cell phones were presented as evidence at trial.

Family members of Tony Etheredge Jr. and Devon Tricoche addressed the court during sentencing to convey the devastating impact of their loss upon their families.

Adams has been transported to the S.C. Department of Corrections.
