
Crash on Interstate 26 results in the closing of all eastbound lanes, Wednesday evening
All eastbound lanes of Interstate 26, near or in in Lexington County, were closed after a crash on Wednesday evening, according to the SC Highway Patrol. It was not clear if the crash was in Lexington or Calhoun County. Traffic was backed up for miles and it took hours (around 5) before all lanes were reopened.
The crash occurred on at the 121-mile marker (I-26 Eastbound) around 6 p.m.
A helicopter landed on the scene of the at 6:37 p.m. and could be seen on SCDOT interstate cameras. There were also several emergency response vehicles on the scene.
