“Celebrating Juneteenth” event held at Cayce Historical Museum, featuring SC African American representation in the Revolutionary War presentation

The Cayce Historical Museum and the African American Committee hosted their second “Celebrating Juneteenth” event, on Saturday, June 20. The purpose was to help educate the community on the history and significance of Juneteenth.

Drs. Larry and Mattie Mack, presented a program on South Carolina African American representation in the Revolutionary War, highlighting the importance of ensuring the stories are not forgotten in our nation’s history.

Cayce Mayor Elise Partin attended, along with Cayce City Councilman Byron Thomas.

“Thank you again to the Cayce Historical Museum. Our city is truly blessed to have such meaningful and educational community events,” said Thomas.
