Ribbon cut on the Airport Boulevard Gateway Project With Mayors Elise Partin, Cayce, Tim Miles West Columbia

Cayce Mayor Elise Partin cut the ribbon with the Midlands Business Leadership Group. West Columbia Mayor Tem Miles, West Columbia City Administrator Brian Carter and Lexington County Councilman Todd Cockrell attended the celebration.

Th Airport Boulevard Gateway Project investment strengthens regional connectivity, enhances community identity, and creates a welcoming first impression for residents, visitors, and businesses alike.

The Airport Boulevard Gateway Project includes improvements along the Airport Boulevard Gateway (a one-mile stretch beginning at I-26 & S.C. 302, continuing to the Airport Expressway) and the larger Gateways Project effort.

The Gateways Project is a coordinated regional effort among local municipalities to create welcoming gateways along key business and tourism corridors in the Columbia region. The initiative will focus on beautification and placemaking improvements at eight major entry points, beginning with Airport Boulevard from I-26 toward the airport. Additional information on the Gateways Project and planned corridor locations is included below.

About the Gateways Project
The Gateways Project includes eight corridor enhancement locations across the Columbia region:
Airport Boulevard Gateway: One-mile stretch beginning at I-26 & S.C. 302, continuing to the Airport Expressway
Fort Jackson Gateway: I-77 & Forest Drive
Lexington Gateway: I-20 & U.S. 1
Harbison Gateway: I-26 & Harbison Boulevard
Downtown Connector Gateway: I-20 & S.C. 277
I-20 & I-26 Interchange
I-20 & I-77 Interchange
I-77 & I-26 Interchange
