More than 100 pounds of litter removed from Riverland Park neighborhood in Cayce
Cayce city Councilman Byron Thomas posted a video of a litter pick-up effort conducted Saturday in the Riverland Park neighborhood of Cayce. City Councilwoman Tiffany Aull joined the clean-up crew. Click here to see the video
Byron Thomas post about the clean-up is below:
What a GOOD morning we had this past Saturday in the Riverland Park neighborhood!
Together, we removed more than 100 pounds of litter to help beautify the neighborhood and prevent trash from entering the Congaree River. That now brings our total to more than 1,200 pounds of litter removed from District 2 in the City of Cayce!
Remember: litter anywhere in our city is a reflection on all of us.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out: my family, constituents, and business owners. We worked so hard that someone even fell asleep on the job.
Special thanks to:
• Donna Zeigler, President of the Riverland Park Neighborhood Association, for bringing attention to the need for this cleanup and for being there with us.
• The incredible Brookland-Cayce High School Sustainability Club students for showing up and showing out. No one can tell me the next generation doesn’t care about the environment.
• Councilwoman Tiffany Aull, you are a rockstar, and I’m so thankful you joined us!
And finally, thank you Jesus for holding back the rain.
District 2 keeps showing that our “C” stands for Community!
